Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have revived their interest in Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
Salah had been linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian club in August, but the idea was rejected by his agent at the time.
Al-Ittihad remains interested in signing the Egyptian star, with their sights set on having him in their squad for the 2023 Club World Cup, hosted by Saudi Arabia.
They are willing to offer Salah a substantial salary, potentially matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s earnings, along with a record transfer fee.

However, the winger recently signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool, making him the club’s highest-paid player. Liverpool have indicated that he is not for sale at this late stage in the transfer window, but rumours may persist until the summer transfer window closes.
A move could be more likely next summer if Liverpool fails to secure Champions League football, allowing them to reinvest in the club by selling Salah.
If the star player departs this summer, it could trigger a strong backlash from Liverpool fans against the club’s owners.
The Reds have already missed out on signing Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, and they likely want to avoid ending the summer transfer window without securing their targets while also losing their star player.
