Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain returns to training prior to Midtjylland clash

English international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain staged a return to Liverpool FC first-team training for the first time since the ex-Gooner injured his knee during the Merseysiders’ pre-season camp earlier this year.

Chamberlain’s return to the senior squad fold comes just prior to Jurgen Klopp’s men playing their final UEFA Champions League group stage fixture away at Danish side Midtjylland on Wednesday.

However, the 27-year-old midfielder is widely tipped not to feature in the mid-week European clash but will instead be working his way to full fitness ahead of the weekend league showdown against Fulham.

According to reports from the Daily Mail, Chamberlain would be in line to make the matchday squad for the upcoming Premier League game away at Fulham as the Englishman seeks to make his debut showing for the ongoing season in the Liverpool FC colours.

Having missed a large chunk of his now three-year-long stint at Anfield due to long-term injury layoffs, Chamberlain will surely be hoping his latest return to Jurgen Klopp’s first-team ranks is bound to be a lengthy run of opportunities for the Champions of England.
