Alex Oxlade Chamberlain Signs New Liverpool Contract

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain has officially signed a new contract extension with the club that will keep him at Merseyside until 2023.

It’s happy days for Liverpool at the moment as Jurgen Klopp has been working his magic of the Reds. The German manager helped the club to win their sixth Champions League title this summer in the clubs illustrious history and guided them to a 2nd place finish in the Premier League table attaining 97 points and just one point behind Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Having tied down most of his key players at the club on long term deals, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain became the latest player to commit his long term future at the club. The England midfielder made the move to Liverpool from Arsenal back in the summer of 2017 and showed some exceptional form towards the back end of his debut season until a knee injury ruled him out for nearly a year.

But the 26-year-old winger is now fit and ready to start firing for the Reds this season after returning back to full fitness. Chamberlain signed a new deal with Liverpool on Friday which will now keep him at the club until 2023.

Upon signing his new contract extension, Chamberlain expressed his delight, “I’m really, really excited – it’s been in the pipeline for a little while, so it’s nice to finally get it done and just extend my time here, which I am really looking forward to. I feel like I missed out on a year, which I obviously did, so it’s really exciting for me to be able to sign. It’s something that I feel is an opportunity to give that year back and make up for a lost time – and hopefully put in some good performances to make amends for not being around last year. You’ve got to count your blessings every time you get an opportunity like this, you don’t get the chance to play for Liverpool Football Club every day. I am really excited to be able to extend my time here.”
