Reds superstar shot-stopper Alisson Becker has revealed that Liverpool deserves to win the Premier League this season despite still having some room for improvement for the future.
The Merseyside giants are eight points clear of second-place Leicester City following their 2-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion
Liverpool narrowly missed out on the title the last term by just one solitary point but a blistering start to the new campaign, in which they have incredibly won 12 of their initial 13 league matches, has restored plenty of hope and belief of a first top-flight triumph since 1990.
And the 26-year-old goalkeeper Alisson believes it would be nothing less than the European champions deserve. Following his move from ASRoma to Anfield in a then-record move for a goalkeeper Alisson has helped Liverpool immensely in the last line of defense.
While speaking to Sky Sports, Alisson revealed the ambition of his own targets by winning the Premier League as well as trying to bring joy to the fans, “My aims are to win everything we play for,”. “Every time we go on the pitch to play a cup game, a league game or a Champions League game, we will give everything to win. The desire of the people is important for us and we have the same desire to win the Premier League this season.
The Brazilian shot-stopper received a red card against Brighton but continued to mention that the unbeaten streak still must go on for Liverpool, “It’s something we try with our full heart, to win, because the people deserve it, the club deserve it and we deserve it also because of what we did last season and what we have done this season so far. But we need to keep going, keep playing to win every game and keep improving – that’s an important thing – but we will try to win all the tournaments we play.”
