According to the latest reports, Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker is the most impactful player for Liverpool this season.
Liverpool is currently doing extremely well this season as they sit 2nd on the Premier League table. Jurgen Klopp’s men look like the only side that can rival Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for the title this term. Having spent big in the summer transfer window, Liverpool looks like serious contenders for the Premiership and one player, who has gone under the radar has been the most vital towards their growth.
Certainly, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have been banging the goals upfront while Virgil Van Dijk and the two fullbacks Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson have shown immense maturity in the back line. Midfielders like Georgino Wijnaldum and James Milner have been pivotal linking up the defense with the attack and the list goes on and on. But Alisson Becker is the most vital player for Liverpool this season.
Liverpool broke the bank as they splashed £65 million on the services for Alisson Becker to lure him from AS Roma to Anfield in the summer window. Alisson has enjoyed a superb start to life at Merseyside and has adapted well to life in England. The 26-year-old shot-stopper has managed to keep seven clean sheets in 12 Premier League games conceding just five teams in the top division.
Alisson has also made four Champions League starts as well and in these 16 matches altogether Alisson has made 34 saves so far and 32 of them have come at crucial intervals when Liverpool have had a one-goal lead, were in a one-goal deficit, or the game was tied.
Alisson has definitely improved Liverpool’s last line of defense and is a huge upgrade to Loris Karius or Simon Mignolet. Liverpool can actually give it a shot for the title this season as they have the team to challenge.
