It took just 58 seconds for the home side to open the scoring and take the lead with Martinelli the man to find the back of the net following a well-executed threaded pass from Martin Odegaard.
The Reds made their efforts to find the leveller with striker Darwin Nunez coming close in the 26th minute as his powerful strike forced Aaron Ramsdale into action.
Nunez, however, was lucky the second time around just minutes later with Luis Diaz teeing up his attacking partner for a sliding finish into the net.
Arsenal reclaimed their lead moments before the half time break with Saka scoring through a tap-in after Martinelli had put in a teasing delivery into the box.
Alisson Becker made an important save to keep out Odegaard’s effort early on in the second period with Arsenal being handed a setback on the other end of the pitch.
Substitute Roberto Firmino was found by Diogo Jota’s brilliant pass behind the Gunners backline and the former was as clinical as ever to slot the ball past Ramsdale to level the affair.
Klopp’s men failed to salvage even a point from their away outing with the later stages of the game witnessing Thiago Alcantara fouling Gabriel Jesus in the penalty area and Saka stepping up from the spot to make it 3-2 for his side and secure the win.
