Arsenal boss reveals deep admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has come out with full praise for upcoming opponents Liverpool FC ahead of next week’s Anfield meeting between the two Premier League giants.

Jurgen Klopp’s men will play hosts to the Gunners on Monday on the back of their 7-2 rout of Lincoln City in the EFL Cup third-round fixture. Arsenal also won their corresponding EFL Cup fixture against Brendan Rodger’s Leicester City with a 2-0 scoreline in their favour.

Monday’s clash between the two teams would be the first of the two games Liverpool FC and Arsenal go up against each other, with both sides meeting later in the same week for a fourth-round match in the EFL Cup.

The Reds have been dominant in their showings of late, particularly in the away win at Chelsea last weekend. And Arteta acknowledged the strength of Jurgen Klopp’s side while speaking to reporters in his pre-match interview, adding that the Premier League champions were indeed a ‘fantastic side’.

“I think they are getting better and better and they have less weaknesses, they are a fantastic side,” said the Spaniard.

“The issue with the weaknesses of opponents is how many you are able to exploit and how many opportunities you get to do that. With all the incredible things that they have, you know that they are going to try and still be able to do them.

Klopp will be hoping to get the better of Arteta come Monday, having lost both of his previous meetings against the Spaniard’s Arsenal side since the backend of the 2019-20 Premier League season.
