After yet another comeback win in their return to action in the Premier League over the weekend, the Reds visit Italy to square off against Atalanta in a group stage fixture of the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool FC put out a good overall performance when facing the Hammers on Saturday at Anfield, despite going behind in the opening minutes of the game when Joe Gomez’s attempted headed clearance could only go as far as to Pablo Fornals, who wasted little time in drilling a driving shot past Alisson.
However, the Reds returned the fire on the rock-solid West Ham backline, with Mohammad Salah’s controversial spot-kick and Diogo Jota’s 85th-minute winner sealing the home fixture in favour of Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Atalanta, on the other hand, have not been at their very best in recent weeks and would be looking to stage an unexpected result over their visitors on Tuesday night at the Stadio di Bergamo.

TEAM NEWS
Fabinho remains a major absentee for Liverpool FC due to the Brazillian sustaining a minor hamstring issue last week, and Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to play Nat Phillips once again as a centre-back alongside Joe Gomez after the former displayed an inspiring performance at the heart of the defence during the victory against West Ham United.
Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain all are long-term injury absentees for the Reds, but Matip should be fit enough to face Manchester City in the upcoming weekend Premier League showdown.
Thiago Alcantara’s name in the XI to take the pitch on Tuesday night would not come as a surprise to many, considering the fact that the Spaniard has already returned to training after his recent injury trouble.
