Atletico Madrid rival Liverpool in the race to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat

Atletico Madrid have emerged as a keen suitor for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, a player who has also been on the radar of both Liverpool and Manchester United.

According to TeamTALK, the Spanish club is actively pursuing the signature of the talented Moroccan midfielder in this summer’s transfer window.

While United have been consistently linked with Amrabat, Liverpool’s interest in the player appears to have diminished in recent weeks.

Liverpool might not actively pursue Amrabat as an option, but it doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of him being a valuable addition to the squad, especially with Fabinho’s impending move to Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, is keen on strengthening the midfield, and Amrabat has become a primary target for the club.

For Liverpool, the situation might be slightly different. While they have been keeping an eye on the defensive midfielder’s progress, they can still look for other options.

However, with Fabinho’s impending move to a Saudi Arabian club, the need for strengthening the midfield becomes more apparent.

Amrabat’s versatility to play in different midfield positions makes him an appealing prospect for top clubs. His technical skills, work ethic, and tactical acumen have earned him admiration from fans and experts alike.

Although Liverpool’s pursuit of Amrabat might have cooled down, his qualities cannot be overlooked. Fabinho’s departure will undoubtedly create a void in Liverpool’s midfield.

Signing the African ace could provide the necessary depth and competition to ensure the team remains strong in the midfield area.

During the summer transfer window, Liverpool may closely monitor Amrabat’s situation. Although they are not currently actively pursuing him, circumstances in football can change rapidly.

The decision to make a move for the 26-year-old will ultimately depend on the club’s transfer priorities.
