Bayern Munich coach ignores rumors linking Thiago to Liverpool FC

Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick shunned down questions regarding Thiago Alcantara’s possible move to Liverpool FC in the summer. Flick stated that he had not paid heed to the recent speculation linking the Spanish midfielder to Anfield.

Last week, rumours surrounded Thiago’s future at Bayern Munich beyond the end of the current season. The Spanish international has been believed to not been wanting to extend his stay at the Bundesliga champions next season. Thiago is rumoured to have voiced his desire of playing for the Reds to the Bayern management.

The 29-year old midfielder has just one year remaining on his existing Bayern Munich contract. The Bundesliga giants fear the possibility of losing out on their star player for free next summer if Thiago does not sign a contract extension. Bayern may let the Spaniard depart this summer if a reasonable offer arrives from Liverpool FC for the player.

Flick, speaking after Bayern’s victory over Wolfsburg, labelled Thiago as an “amazing player”. The newly appointed Bayern coach stated that he did not believe that the creative midfielder wanted to leave the newly crowned Bundesliga champions. Moreover, Flick added that he had not given any attention to the rumours surfacing regarding Thiago’s future at the Allianz Arena.

It is believed that Thiago wants to play for Liverpool FC next season under the guidance of Klopp. The Liverpool FC manager has praised the 29-year old Thiago on several occasions in the past. The Bayern midfielder had been termed by Klopp as one of the best players in the Bundesliga in an interview.

It has to be noticed that the Reds are well-stocked with quality midfielders in their squad. There is at present no room for Thiago in the Liverpool FC midfield, and if the Spaniard does make the move to Anfield, he would have to challenge the likes of Henderson, Fabinho, and Wijnaldum, for a spot in the starting lineup.

However, Adam Lallana is certain to leave the Merseyside club at the end of the current Premier League campaign. Doubts over Naby Keita and Shaqiri’s future at Liverpool FC are still prevalent among the Reds supporters. If either of the two players chooses to leave the newly crowned Premier League champions, Klopp making the move for Thiago could make sense.
