Bayern Munich may tempt Jurgen Klopp into moving to Germany

Former Liverpool FC player Steve McManaman has stated that he believes it would be difficult for the Reds to keep hold of their charismatic coach Jurgen Klopp if Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich approach the German to be their manager in the future.

McManaman pointed out that an opportunity to return to his homeland Germany and the chance to manage one of the world’s biggest team in Bayern Munich at the same time would be too hard for Klopp to refuse, despite his profound love for the Liverpool FC fans and owners.

However, the former Reds midfielder, claimed that Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid would not be in a position to tempt Klopp into making a switch from Anfield primarily due to the German coach turning the current Liverpool FC squad into world beaters and his adaptability and love towards the Premier League.

McManaman, who also played for Real Madrid in his glittering career, claimed that the Reds should not worry about losing Klopp to either of the Spanish sides as the German coach is known for picking his teams very cautiously.

McManaman voiced his concern of Klopp moving to Germany to manage Bayern Munich mainly due to the rumours that link the current Liverpool FC manager to a job at the Allianz Arena. Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has admitted in the past that Klopp had nearly signed on to become the Bayern manager in 2008.

However, at that time, the Bundesliga giants opted to hire Jurgen Klinsmann as their coach. Klopp instead went on to become the manager of Borussia Dortmund, taking the German side to great heights and making his name known all around the world in the process.

Klopp became the Reds manager in October 2015 after the Liverpool FC board had sacked Brendan Rodgers. The German has transformed the Reds from a mid-table club to arguably one of the best teams in world football.

The trophyless streak endured by the Liverpool FC squad was broken last season when the Reds went on to clinch the UEFA Champions League in Madrid with a victory against Tottenham Hotspurs. The same year, Liverpool FC went to win the Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

Moreover, the current season has seen the Reds mount an extraordinary title-winning campaign and sit in the first position in the Premier League table with a huge lead of 25 points over second-placed Manchester City FC.

Jurgen Klopp’s contract with the Reds runs until 2024. However, the Liverpool FC supporters would be eager to see the German extend his stay at the Merseyside club further and win many more trophies in the coming seasons. A potential move by Klopp to Bayern may cause some fear among the Reds’ supporters but Klopp is here to stay at Anfield in the foreseeable future.
