According to the latest reports, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are preparing to swoop in for Liverpool star forward Robert Firmino.
The Brazilian superstar has developed into one of the most highly-rated forwards in world football since arriving at Anfield from German club Hoffenheim back in the summer of 2015.
Firmino has a manager to score 78 goals in 228 appearances for the Merseyside giants across all competitions and the 28-year-old played an integral role in Liverpool’s road to winning the Champions League last season and appears set to become a Premier League champion this season. The Reds are currently sitting at the summit of the Premier League table leading the way, 22 points clear of 2nd placed Manchester City.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp values Firmino as one of the most important players in his dressing room but the 52-year-old will face a fight to keep hold of the playmaker with Bayern Munich hoping to secure his signature in the summer transfer window.
The German champions are set to revamp their squad this summer and have identified Firmino as their primary transfer target as he has already spent time in Germany previously. It is claimed that the Bavarian club’s manager Hans Flick sees Firmino as the ideal player to lead the attack alongside Robert Lewandowski and Manchester City’s Leroy Sane, whom they will also attempt to lure at the Allianz Arena.
However, Liverpool will only sanction Firmino’s departure if they manage to sign a replacement for their prolific workhorse and the Premier League leaders have been heavily linked with a move for Red Bull Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
It is reported that Bayern Munich is plotting a staggering move worth £75 million to secure the services of Firmino from Liverpool.
