Benfica star striker Darwin Nunez is understood to be keen on making the move to Anfield this coming summer with speculation rife over his future.
The 22-year-old is a top name on a host of shortlists across Europe with the likes of Manchester City, West Ham United and Liverpool involved head to head in the chase for his signature come the end of the season.
According to a report from Football Insider, it is claimed that Nunez has his heart set on joining Jurgen Klopp’s Merseyside Reds in a welcome boost on the transfer front for the Liverpool camp.
Nunez, with his highly impressive tally of 23 goals from 29 outings in all competitions this campaign, could prove to be a fantastic piece of transfer business for Jurgen Klopp who recently signed another of Primeira Liga’s star attackers Luis Diaz earlier this year.
Diaz’s arrival has given Klopp some much-needed depth in the forward roles with uncertainty failing to subside over Mohamed Salah’s long-term future at Anfield following his long drawn out contract standoff.
