Bundesliga star centre-back linked with move to Liverpool

20-year old Schalke centre-back Ozan Kabak could potentially become Liverpool FC’s fourth and final signing of this summer’s transfer window, according to reports.

The Turkish international has been eyed by Jurgen Klopp in an attempt to add further reinforcements to his side’s defensive core following Dejan Lovren’s departure. Lovren’s exit paved the way for another quality option at centre-back to be added to Liverpool FC if Klopp feels there is a need to dip into the transfer market.

With first-team regular Joel Matip the victim of a consecutive run of injury niggles, the Liverpool FC boss could be forced to shell out a fee in the region of €25 million to convince Schalke to part ways with their defensive starlet.

Matip’s present injury setback has ruled out the Cameroonian defender from the first-team action in the Liverpool FC shirt at least till mid-October. Such an event could force Klopp’s hand in making an approach for Kabak before the transfer window shuts down on 4th October.

The Turkish defender has shown incredible quality in his showings for Schalke across the 2019-20 Bundesliga campaign, becoming a regular fixture for the German outfit in a majority part of the season.
