Liverpool FC are still interested in making an approach for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Dennis Zakaria, according to reports.
The Swiss international is believed to have been identified by Jurgen Klopp as a future star in the centre of the park for the Reds. Zakaria’s performances of late, particularly across the 2019-20 Bundesliga season, made many top clubs take note of the 23-year old’s immense talent on the pitch.
Despite the Merseyside outfit being keen on adding Zakaria to their ranks this summer, a well-stocked midfield depth currently at Klopp’s disposal dispelled the need to sign the player. However, the Premier League champions will be in the fray to make a move for him.
Monchengladbach were also reluctant to part ways with their prized asset ahead of the 2020-21 season, speculation indicates. However, the German club will be open to sanctioning Zakaria’s sale next summer as the player’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season after that.
