Championship club emerges as frontrunner to sign Liverpool starlet on loan

Despite previous reports suggesting that Ben Woodburn was closing on a loan move to Sparta Rotterdam, it is now speculated that the Welsh international could instead be heading to Hull City before the transfer window closes.

The attacker is not in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans for the moment at Anfield and thus a season-long loan move for the club’s youngest ever goalscorer is on the cards. Many clubs across England’s footballing league pyramid have enquired about Woodburn’s availability on a loan basis, reports suggest.

Hull City, however, seem the favourites to land the 20-year old’s signature after a loan move for the Welshman to Sparta Rotterdam, a club playing in Holland’s top-flight division hit a roadblock. Woodburn is still regarded as a highly promising young talent at Liverpool FC by Klopp and assistant coach Pep Ljinders.

A number of attacking options at Klopp’s disposal, including new summer arrival, Diogo Jota, means that Woodburn is highly unlikely to feature much for the Merseyside outfit this season.
