Brazilian duo Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker make the starting XI for Liverpool’s Premier League opener against the newly promoted Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Alisson’s recent injury niggle had sidelined him for last weekend’s Community Sheild win over Manchester City but the goalkeeper makes his way back into the XI for today’s game.
Unchanged defence from the City win
Joel Matip continues to partner Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the backline with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson slotting in the full-back roles.
French centre-back Ibrahima Konate is missing from the matchday squad along with left wing-back Kostas Tsimikas following their respective injury troubles.
Firmino gets the nod over Nunez to start in the No.9 role
In the midfield department for Liverpool, Klopp does not ring in any changes as was expected by many with the skipper Jordan Henderson joined by Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho.
A surprising inclusion on the team sheet is that of Roberto Firmino with the 30-year-old starting as the central striker ahead of new boy Darwin Nunez.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s Premier League fixture:
