Newly signed left-back Kostas Tsimikas in is line to make his first-team competitive debut for Liverpool FC as the Reds take on third-tier outfit Lincoln City away from home in third round fixture of the 2020-21 EFL Cup.
Since his move to Anfield earlier this summer, the Greek international Tsimikas had been unable to make Jurgen Klopp’s squad for either of Liverpool FC’s opening two fixtures in the Premier League due to him being tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Klopp does make significant changes to his backline that ensured a clean sheet last time around in 2-0 win over Chelsea, with teenage defender Neco Williams replacing Trent Alexander Arnold in the right-back slot.
Wantaway midfield star Marko Grujic, who has attracted interest this summer from a number of German top-flight clubs, starts in a midfield trio alongside Curtis Jones and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Up top, the triplet of Divock Origi, Harvey Elliot, and Takumi Minamino, are fielded to give a much-needed rest to the Mane-Salah-Firmino combination ahead of next week’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal.
