Harry Wilson is handed a rarest of outings in the Liverpool FC shirt by Jurgen Klopp as the Reds get ready to play hosts to Arsenal for the fourth round meeting between the two clubs in the EFL Cup.
The Welshman is partnered up front with a number of attacking options in Mohammad Salah, Takumi Minamino, and new boy Diogo Jota, the latter of whom scored his debut goal for the Reds on Monday against the same opponents in the Premier League.
The pair of Divock Origi and Harvey Elliot drop down to the bench to accommodate the arrival of Wilson and Salah. Gini Wijnaldum and Fabinho also features amongst the substitutes and so does the defensive duo of Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson. Xherdan Shaqiri, however, does not feature in the matchday squad.
An unchanged backline barring one change from last week’s EFL Cup tie against Lincoln City is fielded by Klopp, with the under-fire Neco Williams starting the game at right-back. James Milner replaces the injured Kostas Tsimikas, who reportedly sustained a thigh injury last week, as confirmed by Pep Lijnders in his pre-match interview.
Here are how both the teams line up for the upcoming clash:
