Fabinho earns a recall to the starting XI for Liverpool in the only change made by Jurgen Klopp to the side that was defeated by Manchester United last time around.
The Brazil international midfielder replaces James Milner in the centre of the park with the change expected to freshen an uninspiring Liverpool side which is seeking its first win of the new camapign.
Joe Gomez retains his starting berth
Virgil van Dijk has Joe Gomez for company once again in the centre-back role with the latter set for extended run of first-team football following Joel Matip’s injury.
Trent Alexander-Anrold and Andy Robertson start in the full-back roles on either side of the pitch with Klopp deciding against resting any of them for the home outing.
Unchanged front line for the hosts
In the heart of the midfield, skipper Jordan Henderson and the young Harvey Elliott are joined by the returning Fabinho to make for a solid looking lineup on paper.
Roberto Firmino leads the line for the home side in the absence of the suspended Darwin Nunez with the former partned up top by Mo Salah and Luis Diaz.
