Wholescale changes are witnessed in Jurgen Klopp’s team selection for a must-win game at Anfield for the Merseyside Reds against basement side Burnley.
The most glaring omission in the XI that would take the field shortly is of the under-fire Mohammad Salah, with the Egyptian international being relegated down to the bench to make way for Divock Origi, who is handed his first top-flight start this season.
Xherdan Shaqiri’s impactful showing last time around in the draw against Manchester United means that the Swiss international is due another outing at Anfield, this time in the frontline as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s name is included in the centre of the park for Klopp’s men.
There is no Jordan Henderson in the matchday squad due to unknown reasons and taking the skipper’s makeshift opening in the heart of the backline is the returning Joel Matip.
Summer signing Kostas Tsimikas is amongst the substitutes for tonight’s clash following his return to the fold at Anfield after a significant period of time on the sidelines owing to injury.
