Fabinho coming in for Nat Phillips is the sole change made in the Liverpool FC outfield that emerged victors last weekend at Bramall Lane as Jurgen Klopp’s side face Chelsea this time around.
The Brazillian international had recently made a return to team training ahead of the midweek fixture at Anfield and his inclusion in the Liverpool FC backline suggests that Klopp prefers him to other natural defensive options available at his disposal.
Phillips, meanwhile, is surprisingly not a part of the teamsheet for today’s game despite the 23-year-old putting in a great shift at centre-back when going up against Sheffield United last Sunday.
Alisson Becker also finds himself back in the XI following him being granted leave for the game against the Blades on compassionate grounds.
Liverpool FC’s teamsheet looks unchanged otherwise for the Blues’ visit to Merseyside, barring one notable change amongst the substitutes, which is the much-anticipated return of Diogo Jota after his two-month-long layoff.
The Portgual attacker would be in the fray to grab some minutes off the bench as he works his way to full fitness.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s Premier League fixture:
