Jurgen Klopp makes no changes to his starting teamsheet for Liverpool who play hosts to the defending champions Manchester City at Anfield for the weekend’s high-billed clash.
There is no tinkering around to the Liverpool side that last played Porto in the Champions League and recorded a thumping 5-1 victory.
James Milner continues to deputise for the injured Alexander-Arnold
The 22-year-old star defender Trent Alexander-Arnold remains an injury concern for Liverpool which means Klopp has his go-to man James Milner returning to duty in the right-back role.
Joel Matip partners Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the four-man backline while Andy Robertson retains his spot out on the left after an impressive display against Porto earlier this week.
High-flying Curtis Jones starts in midfield
Jones has been a star turn for Liverpool as of late and following a two-assist showing in the Champions League, the 20-year-old is handed a third straight start in the centre of the park.
Roberto Firmino bagged a brace last time around but the Brazilian finds himself again on the bench with Diogo Jota partnering Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s forward lineup.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s Premier League fixture:
