Confirmed Lineups: Liverpool vs Real Madrid – No changes for the Reds

Jurgen Klopp makes no changes to the Liverpool side that won away at Newcastle last time out for Tuesday’s Champions League Last-16 tie against the cup holders Real Madrid.

The Reds won convincingly on their trip to St. James’ Park over the weekend with goals from Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.

Joe Gomez partners Van Dijk

Despite Joel Matip tipped for a recall to partner up with Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the Liverpool backline, the former is pipped by Joe Gomez to the starting berth on the team sheet.

Gomez will be Van Dijk’s centre-back partner while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson retain their spots in the full-back roles.

Nunez deemed fit to lead the line

Liverpool’s midfield does not see any changes as well with Thiago Alcantara out injured, meaning the teenage starlet Stefan Bajčetić joins Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in the engine room.

Darwin Nunez was said to be a fitness concern for the home side but the club record signing is deemed fit to feature up top alongside Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo.
