Cody Gakpo makes his debut in the Liverpool shirt while the skipper Jordan Henderson returns to the starting XI for the FA Cup meeting with Wolves at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will be looking to bounce back from the 3-1 defeat to Brentford in top flight duty earlier in the week as they play hosts to Wolves to kick off their FA Cup defence.
Konate provides cover for the injured Van Dijk
In what is expected to be a short-term spell on the sidelines for Virgil van Dijk, who injured his hamstring in the Brentford defeat, the Dutchman is replaced by Ibrahima Konate on the Liverpool team sheet.
Konate pairs up with Joel Matip in the heart of the Reds backline while Andy Robertson also returns to the XI with Kostas Tsimikas giving way.
Nunez retains his starting berth up front
Liverpool’s big-money signing of last summer – Darwin Nunez, has failed to impress with the Uruguayan on the hunt for that elusive goal to break his recent drought in the final third of the pitch.
Joining him in the Liverpool front line will be talisman Mohamed Salah and new boy Cody Gakpo who is gearing up for his first game as a Red.
Here is how both teams line up for today’s FA Cup fixture:
