Confirmed Lineups: Manchester City vs Liverpool – Jota, Matip return

The regulars on the Liverpool team sheet in Diogo Jota and Joel Matip return to the XI for Sunday’s high-billed Eithad showdown against Manchester City.

Also returning is the skipper Jordan Henderson after being rested midweek in the 3-1 win over Portuguese side Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final first leg clash.

Matip joins Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the backline with the former’s inclusion coming at the expense of the young Frenchman Ibrahima Konate.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, following his return to the XI last time around against Benfica, starts on the right side of the pitch while Andy Robertson slots in on the opposite flank.

Henderson and Jota replace Keita and Diaz

Jordan Henderson replaces Naby Keita who drops down to the bench with Thiago Alcantara and Fabinho the other names in the midfield ranks for the visitors Liverpool.

New boy Luis Diaz has to make way for Diogo Jota to join Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the attacking third with Roberto Firmino making the bench.
