Trent Alexander Arnold is given the armband for the time in his Anfield career as the Scouser leads Jurgen Klopp’s men to their final UEFA Champions League group stage encounter away at Midtjylland.
In a much changed XI that took the field at home turf on Sunday during a 4-0 win over Wolves, Joel Matip is rested as young sensation Rhys Williams comes in for the sole fully fit senior option at the heart of the defence for Klopp.
As predicted before the release of the lineups, Andy Robertson is given some well-deserved rest following his continued spree of first-team involvement, and it is Kostas Tsimikas who slots in at the left-back spot.
19-year-old Leighton Clarkson is handed his debut first-team start in the Liverpool FC colours and the English starlet will be seen guarding the midfield alongside the returning face of Naby Keita to the XI.
Up top Klopp has decided to go with a four-man attacking line, with Minamino, Origi and Jota coming in for Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino as Mohammad Salah retains his place from the previous game over the weekend.
