According to former Brazilian midfielder Jose Kleberson, Liverpool should look to make a move for Dani Alves in the summer despite the fact that the right-back is in the last few years of his professional football career.
Liverpool fell short by just one point in the Premier League season as Manchester City pipped the Merseyside club to the title. However, the Reds tasted success on a continental level by bringing the European Cup back to Anfield for the sixth time in their illustrious history.
The Champions League holders are not expecting a busy summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp looks to challenge Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City once again in a bit to dethrone the champions of England. In order to beat Manchester City, Liverpool has to be as close to perfection and Klopp has now gotten some advice from ex-Brazilian superstar Jose Kleberson for the summer transfer market.
Kleberson won two World Cup titles with Brazil and played alongside current captain of the national side Dani Alves. And now the 40-year-old believes that Alves could be a great signing for Liverpool following his departure from Paris Saint Germain this summer after a successful two-year spell in the French capital.
Alves will captain Brazil for the Copa America final against Peru on Sunday and Kleberson has showered praise on the 36-year-old full-back keen on bringing him to play in the MLS, “I wanted to get Dani Alves to join me in the MLS, He’s a phenomenal player with amazing quality”
However, the ex-Brazil midfielder also claimed that Liverpool would be a great fit for Alves because of his game style, “I feel maybe could fit in well at Liverpool and Klopp would like him as a style of play. He’s very technical, fast and has an incredible temperament in the big games. He’s a winner.”
