Danny Murphy believes Mohammad Salah to be a cut above Everton’s James Rodriguez

Ex-Liverpool FC fan favourite Danny Murphy has said that Mohammad Salah is a much better all-round attacking option than new Everton signing James Rodriguez while writing a column for the Daily Mail.

The 28-year old Salah has been a star turn for his side in the early stages of this season’s Premier League campaign, netting five goals in the four games Jurgen Klopp’s side has played so far, including a hat-trick on opening day against Leeds United, since England’s top-flight division commenced on September 10.

On the other hand, Rodriguez, a recent arrival at Goodison Park this summer from La Liga giants Real Madrid, has enjoyed a superb start to his life in the Premier League, playing a massive role in Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton sitting on top of the league standings, with three goals and two assists to his name.

However, Murphy argues that despite the Columbian international’s run of brilliant form over the last month, Salah is still a world-class forward, and many would pick the Egyptian winger as their preferred option over the Everton star.

“James Rodriguez is a tremendous player but you would not have him ahead of Mo Salah.

In addition to his aforementioned comments, the former Reds midfielder also stated that Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson were certainly a cut above in comparison to their Everton counterparts, Richarlison and Lucas Digne.

“I’ve eulogised about Richarlison but he is not quite the same player as Mane. Lucas Digne gets good reviews as Everton’s left-back but you would still take Andy Robertson every day of the week.”
