Jurgen Klopp’s injury-hit Premier League title-winning squad were left with another casualty on Friday, with star forward Mohammad Salah reportedly testing positive for COVID-19 just days after attending his brother’s wedding celebration in his native land of Egypt.
According to the Daily Mail, the Egyptian FA confirmed in a statement that after tests had been run on the entire squad, the Liverpool FC man was the sole player to test positive for the pandemic virus, upon which Salah will start self-isolation in the capital city of Cairo.
However, certain restrictions do exist over the player’s return to England, and most particularly Liverpool, as he will have to remain in Egypt for the forthcoming week before making plans to board the flight for England.

For a first-team squad that is already without Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander Arnold, Fabinho, and Joe Gomez, Salah’s addition to the list would severely trouble Jurgen Klopp as well as the Liverpool FC fanbase owing to Salah’s critical importance to the Reds upfront.
The 28-year-old leads the goalscoring charts for Jurgen Klopp’s side this fledging season, with eight goals so far that included a hat-trick on the opening day of the 2020-21 Premier League campaign in the 4-3 win against new boys Leeds United.
