Fabinho is desperate to extend Liverpool FC deal, says Fabrizio Romano

Highly-renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Fabinho is clamouring for his current Liverpool FC deal to be extended further on the back of his recent showings highlighting the Brazillian international’s importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Fabinho’s stay at Anfield is guaranteed for another two years only, and Romano, while speaking in his podcast, stated that the ex-AS Monaco man is hopeful of being offered a long-term contract extension by the Merseyside giants in the very near future.

It had been reported earlier that Jurgen Klopp was keen on extending Fabinho’s stay at Liverpool FC, with the 27-year-old now being viewed as a fairly important part of the German coach’s setup at Anfield.

Following Virgil van Dijk being sidelined for the rest of the 2020-21 season owing to an ACL injury, Fabinho stepped up in the Dutchman’s absence by playing in the centre-back spot for a couple of games to huge acclaim, before a minor hamstring niggle cut short his playing time for the upcoming 4-6 weeks.
