Fabinho is Liverpool’s most important player, says club and country teammate Alisson

Liverpool FC No.1 Alisson Becker believes that Fabinho is the most important player of Jurgen Klopp’s side, adding that the 27-year-old’s versatility on the pitch makes him a crucial cog in the XI for both club and country.

The Brazillian duo joined the Anfield giants in the summer of 2018, with Liverpool FC’s 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in the 2017-18 Champions League finals proving that Jurgen Klopp required some more first-team faces to bolster his squad.

Both Fabinho and Alisson have been hugely critical to the success accumulated by Liverpool FC over the last couple of seasons and have come to be loved dearly by the Reds fanbase with their fantastic showings propelling Jurgen Klopp’s side to titles across the country and continent.

Praising his teammate’s ability in an interview to Globo Esporte, the Reds’ shot-stopper said that Fabinho’s latest injury setback is a sore point for the Merseyside club as a whole, particularly after his stepping in for the injured Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the defence earned the former AS Monaco man plaudits from far and wide.

“I believe that Fabinho is the most important player for both the club and the national team, this is my opinion about that. He’s a very important player wherever he is, he always proves his worth on the pitch.

“He has been playing for Van Dijk and, unfortunately, with his injury we miss him too. He can play in midfield, as a defender, he was a full-back in the past and these characteristics bring even more value to him.”

With Fabinho just one amongst the growing number of Liverpool FC first-team regulars currently on the recovery table, Klopp will be hoping that his star player makes a return to full fitness as soon as possible.
