Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s game against Leicester City on the road that Fabinho will sit out the top-flight clash at the King Power Stadium.
The Brazillian international was hurried back to action from a minor injury spell in the Reds’ 4-1 defeat to Manchester City the past weekend as he slotted into his now usual makeshift role at centre-back.
Reports from the club’s official website have claimed that the former AS Monaco man has a muscle issue, which would force him to be ruled out of the upcoming Premier League fixture for Jurgen Klopp’s outfit.
“Fab will not be available. He suffered again a little muscle issue, so will be out for this game.”
Fabinho’s injury could tempt Jurgen Klopp into giving much-anticipated debut appearances to the defensive duo of Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies, both of whom signed for the Premier League holders on deadline-day.
Liverpool FC remain without all of their first-choice centre-back options in the senior ranks at Anfield, with Joel Matip joining Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez after his ankle injury was confirmed to be a season-ending concern.
