Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Borussia Dortmund talent Jude Bellingham remains Liverpool’s ‘top priority’ on the transfer front ahead of summer 2023.
Bellingham has seen his stock rise in world football over the past year and a half following his impressive run of displays for Dortmund which has earned him rave reviews from elsewhere and possibly a big-ticket move to the Premier League.
Liverpool have been considered as one of the clubs weighing up a move for the England international who will be seen taking part in the World Cup with The Three Lions as he looks to present himself to his suitors across Europe.
With Jurgen Klopp pushing hard to overhaul his ageing midfield roster in time for the start of the next season, Bellingham, despite reports that Dortmund want a sizable asking price, still remains on Liverpool’s transfer radar.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared similar sentiments with the transfer guru, speaking to Caught Offside ( via The Echo), hinting that Liverpool are very much in the mix for the midfield maestro.
“New midfielders will be the priority for Liverpool on the market next year, with Jude Bellingham one of their top priorities after they failed to sign Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer.
Graeme Souness has suggested that there might be too much competition for Bellingham, so Jurgen Klopp should try going after James Maddison instead. I’m sure Liverpool will be linked with 100 midfielders in the months ahead, by both media reports and pundit comments like this. We know they will be busy with midfield changes in 2023″
