Fabrizio Romano rubbishes Liverpool and Sven Botman links

Fabrizio Romano has played down recent reports of Liverpool FC’s opening of talks with French club Lille over signing Sven Botman this January window.

The 20-year-old Botman is understood to be a long-term transfer target for Jurgen Klopp’s side, however, the talk of late concerning the Merseysiders’ concrete approach for bringing the Dutchman to Anfield was rubbished by Romano through a post on his Twitter profile.

According to Fabrizio’s tweet, Liverpool FC are yet to enter into official negotiations with Lille as Jurgen Klopp aims to strengthen his team’s injury-depleted backline with the addition of the promising Holland international central defender.

Romano did add that Botman has been scouted in detail by the Premier League holders and is perceived to be a huge talent should the Anfield outfit intensify their interest in making a move for him over the month-long transfer window.

Liverpool FC’s potential business this January remains to be witnessed, with many believing that Klopp would be lured by the increasing number of defensive injury casualties to sign a fresh face even as the Reds gaffer voiced uncertainty surrounding his side’s likely splashing of cash.
