FC Barcelona rumored to have identified Sadio Mane as Lionel Messi’s replacement

FC Barcelona will have to shell out a reported figure of £107 million to land the signing of Liverpool FC’s star man Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese international is being identified by the Catalan giants as a possible replacement for Lionel Messi, who on Tuesday handed in a transfer request to force through a move ahead of next season. The Argentine forward is believed to have been disgruntled over the recent state of affairs at the La Liga outfit.

Mane has established his credentials as a truly world-class forward during his time at the Reds. Since signing for the Merseyside club from Southampton in 2016, the 28-year old has been a proven attacking threat in the Premier League as well as in the Champions League, winning both titles with Jurgen Klopp’s side over the past couple of seasons.

Having played under new FC Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman at Southampton, it is rumored that Mane will be open to sealing a move to Nou Camp this summer. However, it is all speculation at this point as the Reds are understood to be in no mood to let the player exit Anfield.

With Mane’s current deal with Liverpool FC running until 2023, the Anfield giants will demand an asking price of £107 million to let the forward depart for Spain, according to reports.
