A high-flying Liverpool ensured a thumping 5-1 win on their travels to Portugal in the midweek Champions League outing against FC Porto.

The visitors started the game on the front foot and it was Curtis Jones, who put out a fine showing all evening, producing a brilliant bit of attacking play from the left allowing Mohamed Salah to net the opener.
Diogo Jota came close to adding to Liverpool’s advantage but the Portuguese, on his return to his former side’s patch, was stopped in his tracks by the Porto backline led by goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
Sadio Mane, however, was in the right place at the right time to double Liverpool’s lead just before the halftime break as the Senegalese slotting James Milner’s delivery into the box past Costa to make it 2-0.
Early on in the second half it was Salah once again to prove his attacking mettle as the Egyptian added to his tally for the night by finding the back of the net from a Curtis Jones pass.

Klopp brought on three players off his bench with the forward duo Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino joined by Joe Gomez to take the field but the hosts Porto
Porto, however, pulled one back and looked to find a way back into the game when Taremi headed Fabio Vieira’s cross past Alisson but the returning Roberto Firmino put up a stellar show in front of the goal in what remained of the match.
The Brazilian got his finish past the onrushing Costa after getting on the end of a ball played by Curtis Jones and then scored another which was given following a lengthy VAR check as Liverpool secured the three points in a rather convincing manner.
