Fenerbahce lead race to sign out-of-favour Liverpool forward

Liverpool FC’s very own cult hero Divock Origi has become a subject of increased transfer interest this summer across Europe, with reports suggesting that as many as five teams are in the mix to sign the Belgian forward.

Origi’s status within Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad at Anfield has more or less been a rotation option upfront to supplement the likes of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Mohammad Salah. The 25-year old has been awarded very few starts in the Premier League over the past two seasons, featuring as more of a super-sub later on in the game.

However, the Belgian international does remain a highly-rated attacking option for clubs looking to bolster their frontline this summer. Apart from the English top-flight quartet of Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Brighton, and Fulham, who have registered their interest in making a move for Origi, the player has also courted inquiries from abroad.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have contacted the Reds over a potential loan-to-buy deal for Origi, according to reports. It is understood that the Anfield giants will not stand in the player’s way of seeking a move away from the club, however, have placed a £14 million price-tag on his head.

Moreover, Liverpool FC will also push for a loan fee to be paid by Fenerbahce, besides the latter also being required to pay the attacker’s wages in full.
