Former Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is said to be interested in the Liverpool sporting director job which is up for grabs at the end of the season.
Mislintat has worked with the Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp before during their days at Borussia Dortmund and the former could be keen on a move to Anfield ahead of the start of the next campaign.
Liverpool’s current sporting director Julian Ward has announced that he would be stepping down from the position just months after he took up the job and his departure could open the door for Mislintat’s entry into the Liverpool fold.
According to a report from Sky Sports, it is claimed that Mislintat, who is currently on a break after his exit from German side Stuttgart, is credited with an interest in the Liverpool role but no concrete negotiations have got underway.
Mislintat spent 14 months at North London giants Arsenal between 2017 and 2019 and was instrumental in signing the likes of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira for the Emirates outfit.
