Former England No.1 David James has showered praise on Kostas Tsimikas who has emerged as a key figure in the Anfield ranks this season.
The Greece international made the move to Merseyside from Olympiacos in the summer of 2020 with his arrival at Anfield to provide cover for Andy Robertson in the left-back role.
Jurgen Klopp has awarded Tsimikas with regular minutes this season with Andy Robertson’s spell on the sidelines allowing the former to find himself in the starting XI for an extended period.
Despite Robertson’s return to the starting berth for Liverpool and a stellar run of form from the former Hull City man, Tsimikas has earned plaudits for his much-improved displays under Jurgen Klopp’s charge.
Ex-Liverpool shot-stopper David James in an interview with Stadium Astro following the Reds’ win over Aston Villa on Saturday voiced praise for Tsimikas with James saying that the defender looked a more experienced player of late.
“Tsimikas is probably the best example currently [of players Jurgen Klopp has improved]. He starts this season as if he’s been here for three years. I was watching games and I’m like, ‘this guy…..I don’t recognise him.
