Fulham set to table opening bid for wantaway Liverpool attacker

Another English top-flight club in the form of Fulham have entered the race to sign Harry Wilson this summer, according to reports.

The Welsh international has been a target for a number of teams across the Premier League, namely Leeds United, Southampton, and Aston Villa. However, Liverpool FC’s demands of a £20 million transfer fee for the winger is causing interested clubs a headache over meeting the said valuation.

Previous reports had suggested Jurgen Klopp’s decision of blocking another loan spell for Wilson away from the Merseyside club in the ongoing transfer window. The 23-year old attacker has been a regular loanee for the Reds over the past couple of years, including a spell at AFC Bournemouth last season.

But the Welshman is tipped to stay at Anfield as a rotation option for Klopp is neither of the clubs interested in the player makes a permanent transfer approach for him. Liverpool FC does need a windfall of funds to finance their summer transfer business, and a potential £20 million sale of Wilson could go a long way in helping the Reds do the same.

Scott Parker’s Fulham, meanwhile, are rumoured to be preparing an initial bid worth £12 million for the player. Whether the two clubs agree on a lower fee, or Liverpool FC stick to their guns over Wilson’s pricing demands remains to be seen in the coming weeks.
