Injury Update

Further tests awaited on Jordan Henderson’s latest injury setback

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that first looks on Jordan Henderson’s injury suggest that the Liverpool FC skipper might be in line to miss a number of games.

The 30-year-old midfielder was withdrawn from the match proceedings around the half-hour mark at Anfield on Saturday when the Reds welcomed city rivals Everton in what was a must-win top-flight outing for the hosts.

Having turned out in central defence once again alongside new recruit Ozan Kabak, Henderson had little time to play his part having seen his side go behind in only the third minute through Richarlison’s strike after a muscle issue forced the England international to be replaced by Nat Phillips.

Klopp, while speaking to the club’s official website, in the aftermath of the 2-0 defeat suffered by the Merseyside Reds, confirmed that Henderson had sustained a problem in the groin region and that further assessment would detail the extent of the issue being faced by the captain.

“It’s the groin/adductor region and nobody in the medical department was positive about it.

“It doesn’t look good, but we have to wait, of course, for the scan tomorrow, hopefully.”
