Liverpool midfielder Harry Wilson has admitted that he had a great time during his loan spell with Championship side Derby County last season helping them reach the Championship play off final.
The Reds brought back the Champions League trophy back to Anfield for the sixth time in the decorative history of the club. But as Liverpool finished just one crucial point behind eventual Premier League champions Manchester City, Jurgen Klopp has some work on his hands in the summer to try and make sure that his team achieves that goal.
With the preseason training beginning today, a few players that were on loan have returned to Melwood and some exciting prospects lie ahead. Welsh winger Harry Wilson spent the whole of last season out on loan with Derby County and the 22-year-old scored 18 times in 48 appearances for the Rams.
Wilson opened up on how former England midfielder helped him grow as a player and the opportunity to experience playing regular football, “I feel I gained massive experience under a fantastic manager in Frank Lampard, who gave me the opportunity to go out and play week in, week out, express my ability and go out there with no fear. I felt confident throughout the season.
The young attacker, who could remain at Liverpool this season further added, “I loved my time at Derby, it is a fantastic club. The last pre-season I had a few clubs who wanted me, but it was up to me, the club and my agent to come up with the right club. We felt we did that in Derby. I went there, played a lot of games and had a really good season both personally and as a team, so I am really happy with the way it went.”
