Andy Robertson has voiced his admiration for Manchester United star-man Marcus Rashford’s and stated that the English forward could be the first Red Devils’ player to be honored with a standing ovation at Anfield despite the hostility shared between the two English heavyweight sides.
Rashford worked relentlessly and coerced the United Kingdom government towards extending school meals into the summer for the betterment of the kids in need of such a scheme and the 22-year old’s off-the-field efforts have been lauded by the Liverpool FC left-back in a recent interview to The Times.
The Scottish international was full of praises for the Manchester United attacker’s contribution towards making sure that the school-going children did not miss out on an important part of their daily dietary requirements.
“What he’s done was amazing, outstanding.
“The two words that everyone’s saying [during the pandemic] are ‘Marcus Rashford’.
“He made politicians overturn the decision [not to extend free school meals] because he wanted every kid to get fed.
Upon the fans being allowed into the stands of football stadiums all across England, something that has been prohibited for the time being owing to the COVID-19 restrictions, Rashford would be befitting of getting a standing ovation from the Anfield faithful, expressed Robertson.
“Once the fans are back in, Marcus Rashford could be the first Manchester United player to get a standing ovation here. He’d definitely deserve it because thousands of families are getting fed now.”
