Icelandic talent Isak Bergmann Johannesson catches Liverpool’s attention

17-year old midfield starlet Isak Bergmann Johannesson, who plays for Swedish outfit IFK Norrkoping, has caught the eye of Liverpool FC, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Reports state that the Premier League champions are the latest European heavyweights to send scouts to watch the teenage sensation in action and that the player has become a key target in the very near future for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who already boast of promising young midfield talent in the form of Curtis Jones.

Johannesson has developed into a fantastic midfielder in recent years, and despite his tender age, is regularly starting fixtures for IFK Norrkoping. The Swedish club are well aware of interest from across the globe in their fantastic prospect and would be keen on parting ways with him for a reasonable fee coming their way.

The Premier League duo of Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United are also in the fray to make a move for Johannesson, with both sides looking to secure their future talent within their ranks with a signing of the 17-year old’s calibre.

Whether Liverpool FC walks away with the teenager’s signature in spite of interest being far and wide in him remains to be seen, however, Jurgen Klopp certainly has a great track record of working with youth talent and fostering their development into world-class stars since the German’s reign at Borussia Dortmund.
