Inter Milan join the race to land Divock Origi’s signature in January

In a surprising turn of events leading up to January’s winter transfer window, reports suggest that Serie A outfit Inter Milan are looking upon the possibility of making a move for Liverpool FC’s fringe first-teamer Divock Origi.

According to the Daily Mail, Origi’s highly uncertain future in the Reds shirt could mean that Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan enquire about the Belgian international’s availability in the forthcoming winter transfer window as the Italian coach seeks to add attacking options at San Siro.

Ex-Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez’s shallow run of form since his move to Italy is believed to have convinced Conte to seek Origi’s signing as some much-needed cover for his compatriot Romelu Lakuku, who remains Inter Milan’s first-choice striker.

Origi’s exit from Anfield remains highly unlikely in the coming months on the back of his extremely limited first-team involvement for Jurgen Klopp’s men, with the 25-year-old having secured just eight minutes of Premier League action since the turn of the season.

Keeping in mind the delayed UEFA Euros which are scheduled to take next year, ample game-time is of paramount importance to Origi as the 29-capped Belgian strives to make Roberto Martinez’s national squad.
