James Milner put pen to paper on a one-year extension with Liverpool on Monday to stay put with Jurgen Klopp’s side for the 2022-23 campaign.
Milner, however, has turned down offers from Premier League outfits Aston Villa and Newcastle United as well snub the opportunity to play in the MLS to extend his contract at Anfield, according to a report from Goal.
It is understood that the 36-year-old has agreed to sign the extension on a reduced pay in order to prolong his Liverpool career which started in 2015 after he called it quits with Manchester City to join the Reds camp.
He made 39 outings across the 2021-22 season for Liverpool, a majority of which came off the bench, with Milner adding the FA Cup and Carabao Cup trophies to his impressive collection of laurels.
