Mohammad Salah was the subject of lavish praise from former Liverpool FC skipper Jamie Redknapp in the aftermath of the Egyptian international’s incredible showing for Jurgen Klopp’s side in their 3-1 win over West Ham United.
Salah broke his goal drought that had been on the upturn since December in superb style with two brilliant goals in the second half against the Hammers at the London Stadium following which Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp voiced admiration for the 28-year-old’s quality whilst on the pitch.
Redknapp added further praise for Salah’s world-class technique in scoring his second of the evening in East London, with the ex-Chelsea forward’s first touch on route to finding the back of the net being glorified by the pundit.
‘Truly world class, watch how far away from his body it (the ball) is. Everything is in his stride,’ said Redknapp, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
‘Look at Salah, the desire the determination and the speed he’s going at. It’s an incredible touch. Look at how high it (the ball) is coming up. A deft touch and then he flicks it in.’
‘It’s an amazing one with Salah. He’s top scorer with 15 goals but it still feels he doesn’t get certain love (like we give) with certain other players.
‘Maybe it’s about him being perceived as greedy with taking loads of shots. He doesn’t get a lot of the love with other strikers like (Harry) Kane.
The brace over the weekend took Salah’s goalscoring tally to 15 for the ongoing top-flight campaign and the Egyptian drifted ahead of the Spurs attacking duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot, with the latter two having scored 12 goals apiece.
