Joe Cole has urged Liverpool to make a move for Juventus forward Federico Chiesa who has been a star turn for the Italians in the recent past with his fine run of form.
Jurgen Klopp’s camp at Anfield are backed to bring in a fresh face for their attacking roster sooner rather than later with question marks posed at the misfiring streak of showings put out by the Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane pairing.
Both players, established names in England’s top flight and key to Liverpool’s fortunes up top on the pitch, have often struggled in front of the goal since the turn of the year and are set to turn 30 over the course of this ongoing campaign.
With the Merseysiders linked with a host of star names across Europe, one of which is Italy international Chiesa, a former Liverpool man Joe Cole has urged Jurgen Klopp to keep tabs on the high-flying Juventus man.
Cole, reported by Coral( via The Metro) reckons Liverpool will benefit greatly from signing a player of Chiesa’s ability with the youngster proving his credentials as a talent to watch out for in the time to come.
‘It was an indifferent summer for Liverpool.’
‘I was surprised they didn’t go out and bring in a superstar. Like what Sir Alex Ferguson used to do when they would win trophies. They’d go again and double down, they’d bring someone in who might sort of ruffle feathers.
‘Someone like Chiesa is an absolute perfect player from Juventus for Liverpool, the way he plays.’
