The ever-increasing uncertainty over Jordan Henderson’s Anfield future is set to subside for now with the player in line to sign a new long-term contract with Liverpool.
Henderson’s future on Merseyside had become a hot topic during the ongoing summer transfer window with the England international’s extension talks with the Liverpool board suffering a shocking breakdown.
Rumours of the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain positioning themselves as suitors for the Liverpool captain gained ground even as Jurgen Klopp downplayed such links, saying that Henderson’s future will be resolved very shortly even as the player did not feature in Liverpool’s opening day fixture of the new top-flight season.

Reports from The Athletic now claim that Henderson has struck an agreement in principle with Liverpool to put pen to paper on a new deal that would commit his long-term future in the colours of Liverpool.
A three-year-long deal is expected to be signed by the 31-year-old Henderson with an option for another year depending upon the number of appearances made by the former Sunderland man.
